Hippity Hop CKC Members Hop 0415

Greetings and Salutations!

In the hop for the second month in a row! This is a record for me.

Did you arrive from Jemma from Just JimJams?

If not you may want to go to CKC blog to start at the beginning.

The challenges for this month were:

Challenge #1: Pick A Challenge

Challenge #2: Sketch Challenge
Challenge #3:  Spring Challenge
I chose Whimsical Musing challenge #165
Little a Designs

The colour and textures in this mood board was to drive our creativity. At the same time I want to stay true to the graphic simplicity of Messy Box, the inspiration kit this month.
Messy Box
What I came up with was this:

That is also chimes in for challenge #3 Spring Challenge was serendipitous.

I don't use purple in scrapping very often. In fact, I think my current usage is one layout with purple, per year. Love my new butterfly punch. Love my lilacs. They will be giving another splendorous show in about 6 weeks.

And now on to the next member:

Thanks for stopping by. Double thanks for comments.

R&R (Round Up and Reveal)

Dear Reader. You probably will be able to identify with this situation. Have you ever foundt your life picking up momentum and felt like centrifugal force was pulling your world away and out of your control? Haha. ME TOO!!!

So what's a gal to do when there is so much going on and she doesn't want to give up on any of it?

Streamline. Reduce. Conquer. Adopt the Pareto Principle, aka the 80/20 rule. (80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts.) Which leads to application of the lifestyle modifier, "Done is better than perfect."

So here goes. 80/20ing the blog and my CKC involvement.

ROUND UP for One Good Turn (February) and Good Heavens (March).

Still under construction: 3 two-page layouts using sketch from Scrapbook Generation and 2 one-page layouts using CKC border challenge.

Completed 4 one-page layouts.
Team Jetty. The engineering excellence of the Griffin duo culminates in the debut of the now world famous Jetty.
Cohen gives many of his toys names and personalities. Jetty is a friendly, lighthearted character. The sort of friend you like to hang out with and just watch the world fly by.
Features hand cut letters.

Antony School Concert. Features Polaroid sized frame cut from cork placemat.

Hello (names blocked out.) A layout for my "Friends of the Family" album.

"I never met a tool that I didn't like." -Robin Breese, millwright extraordinary.
Features, another hand cut cork frame and Sherrie's signature spelling mistakes. Was wanting to scrap this photo at church weekend crop. No ideas. Took a break for a walk. Found a stamp set at the dollar store and the rest, as they say, is history. Stamped the tools on creamy cardstock, fussy cut and tinted with watercolour pencil crayons.

And now for REVEAL.

Inspiration kit.Messy Box from A Beautiful Mess.
Presenting In Good Company.

PROCESS. Kick self in butt for purging DCWV black and white stack last year. Pull b&w paper from stash.Tinkering Ink, Rusty Pickle, K&Co and unknown. Add in one multi-coloured sheet, Recollections. Consider that the gold alphas you got rid of three or four years ago, because you thought they were hideous, would now be absolutely lovely.  Resolve to NEVER get rid of ANY scrapbooking supplies EVER again. Go buy new alphas, Recollection. Gather coloured velum and punch hearts and circles. The orange sheet had previously tricked me into thinking it was only for Halloween. What a treat it will be to use it with confidence in this kit. Grab numbers from Glitz, cloth tape from 7 Gypsies, white brads of CTMH fame. Fill in with 4x3 and 3x3, title cards and off cuts, from Echo Park, Jenny Bowlin/Core'dinations and Rusty Pickle. Forge the rest. Chalk pen on black cardstock for "Hey You!" Chalk pen on transparency for "Today is a gift" Black acrylic on white cardstock for  XOXO, stripes, and speckles. Toss in pile and photograph.

In Good Company add-on#1 Old Friends
Old friends as in old stash. More numbers from Glitz. Jounaling prompt, Rusty Pickle. Chalk pen and chalkboard paper, CTMH. Chalkboard stickers, AC and MME. Vinyl stickers, unknown. Off cuts, MME. Going to forge some of the White on Black cards as seen in the kit. Will make them as inspiration strikes as I don't want to use up the blackboard paper and then find that fickle old inspiration has flown off in a different direction.

In Good Company Add-on #2 New Friends.
New friends from and Easter shopping spree yesterday, Good Friday. I shopped with an attitude of gratitude towards my Lord and Saviour, thanking Him for His sacrifice to the world and the many blessings in my world. First, the Recollections butterfly punch. Reduced from $35 to $9. Gold stamp pad, Craft Smart. Wood stamps, Amy Tangerine. Metal butterflies, Martha Stewart. Paper doilies, Celebrate It. Date and phrase stamps, Dear Lizzie. Sheer stickers, Heidi Swapp.

Good Company is titled in honour of all the good friends I have made in the CKC community. Always there when needed for recognition, encouragement, or inspiration. Even if this whirlwind life of mine turns into a maelstrom, I will endevour to stay connected with you. Should I fail, remember we are only a thought and a prayer apart.

Wishing you many Easter blessings. Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!!
