I'm so excited!

I have a new project.

It should keep me busy and out of trouble for the next month or so.

A friend and I are going to share a table at a fair.
We get to play store for a day!
And we both love Vintage Shabby.
I'll keep you posted as we develop out ideas.

Wrap-up for Frosty Days, Cozy Nights

Taking me out of my comfort zone seems to be what my CKC kits are all about. Each month I seem to find it a real challenge to work outside of my regular colour combinations. Then at some point, my previous parameters give way and I slip into the creative curve, and am surprised by what comes out of the flow.  Combining my Christmas photos with some not so seasonal colours proved  to be a rewarding challenge. Albeit, it took me awhile to break though to the muse, this month, the results were truly satisfying for me. With 24 single page layouts. My Christmas Day photos are ready for the album.

The kit, Frosty Days, Cozy Nights began here:

After the flurry of fabrication, a  few partial patterned pages remain. There are plans to work them into the next kit. The tiny scraps shall become journal cards. The embellishments were used either in part, or totally, except for the green bias ribbon and the cream rosette which both went back into the stash.

And out of it all came this:

A title page inspired by Pam:

A kraft banner was one of the items I pledged to counterfeit. Also I met the challenge to use kraft and white cardstock and my cricut deep cut blade created stars and numerals, some of which where covered in crackle paint and glimmer mist. I am quite proud of them as I have to push my self to do "messy" work.

A Little Girl meets her First Barbie:

The off center banner that keeps showing up on my layouts is again, an inspiring idea from the whimsically natured Pam .

More of those journal cards made from remnants of previous kits:

A couple of  "nice couple" of pictures and then a few more truer to character:

and Piglet.

Most of these layouts are destined for the Christmas album, but some will go into each grandchild's album also.

Another layout inspired by Pam
and her wellspring of inspiration on flikr.

And the last couple of layouts are less elaborate in detail but full of photos.

As February is another LOAD (layout a day) month with scraphappy.org, I will be posting these layouts to flikr, shortly. Usually I post on flikr each day during LOAD but this time chose to just scrap until the kit was done.

Some fun stuff has been happening in my life, besides this plethora of pages.

On Face Book, we have started a group called Athabasca and Area Paper Crafters. If you are interested in joining the membership is not limited to the area.

At the Athabasca Native Friendship Center, we now have a Tuesday afternoon sewing club and a Wednesday afternoon scrapbook club.

Also on Face Book are a series of auction groups, where we buy and sell our stuff to each other, then get together once a week to swap the junk cool stuff and our envelopes of money around. I have been listing and selling my T-shirts cum shopping totes, now aptly named T-bags, with excellent response.

And winter is beginning to wane as the daylight stretches longer into the afternoons. Glory be, the end is in sight.

Thanks for dropping by. Double thanks for comments.
